The positive impact of volunteering

We couldn’t deliver our programs and support young people without the dedicated support of our volunteers. From our volunteer mentors meeting with young people each week, to our community fundraisers and specialist volunteers supporting on projects, to the people raising awareness of Raise in their local communities. Every hour given makes a difference to teens across Australia.

But, we know it also benefits the volunteer personally, their local community and wider society. Volunteering Australia found that people who volunteer have improved psychological wellbeing, self-esteem, happiness, and satisfaction with life. It also creates a positive ripple effect. We know from our evaluations  that volunteering gives people a sense of contributing to their community.

Volunteer as a mentor

As a Raise mentor either in schools or online through Raise Digital, you have the power to change a young person’s life. Many of our mentors return year after year to support young people and reap the benefits for themselves as well.

We’ve already trained over 10,000 volunteers through our industry-leading mentor training to mentor young people and change lives.

Volunteer to raise awareness in your local community

We know that sometimes mentoring isn’t the right fit for a variety of reasons, but if you’d like to support the work of Raise in your local community we’re always looking for people to help raise awareness of our programs.

Volunteer as a community fundraiser

We can only keep supporting young people if we can keep funding new programs.

Did you know it costs $2,300 to support one young person through a 20 week, in-school mentoring program?

Volunteer for ongoing or project roles

We also have volunteers working in a variety of roles and projects across Raise, supporting us with their specialist skills. If you have skills you could share, we’d love to hear from you.
